Cheeky, Topaz, Flint & Cloud

Cheeky with our 3 year old nephew Taylor in Scotland, whom Cheeky seems to adore and be very tolerant of. Cheeky now has three cage-mates, Flint, Topaz & Cloud. They have now moved to an aviary (of sorts) in our back yard, where they seem to be very happy. We've provided them with nesting boxes, and there are some indications that Flint (who seems to have a sexual appetite of awesome proportions) will be mating with Cheeky in the not-too-distant future. Watch this space!!!

The budgies seem to have a great affinity for kids, and my nephew Taylor is no exception. With most adults, they'll stay put for about 10 seconds on average, before fluttering off somewhere else, but they're quite happy sitting still for Taylor for minutes on end and don't seem to be the least bit frightened of him.

Here Cheeky and Flint are with Taylor while Cloud (named for him lovely patches of white and blue), is happily nesting temporarily in Naomi's hair!
