The new forest is an ideal spot for gentle walks. We were lucky at
Oakdene to have a lovely forest walk right on our doorstep, and we took full
advantage of it. As a child I remember camping beside Hatchets Pond (near
Beaulieu) and the lovely
walks we used to have around the pond and over the adjoining heath.
