Rambling Rose Rambling Rose moored on a wooded stretch of
the Leeds-Liverpool Canal near to Adlington in Lancashire. Although much of the
canal system involves industrial areas and towns, they also pass through a
great deal of unspoilt countryside, far from motorways and cars [though
railways are a fairly frequent companion, it has to be said]. Some stretches of
canal are of unsurpassing beauty, such as the drop down the top of Airedale
between Barrowford and Skipton on the Leeds-Liverpool, and the final few miles
of the Llangollen. What's more, it's always easy to choose a mooring to suit
you, whether it's in town, in the country, by a field of sheep or outside a
pub.
