Naomi and I have lived in our current house
in Bury since 1994. We've put a lot of time and effort [not to mention
money!] into improving the house and making it perfect for us. In 1997 we
decided to stay put here at least until I retire, so none of this has been
wasted. The house is an Victorian end-terraced townhouse built in the middle of
the 19th Century. Some of the original characteristics remain, including the
mosaic-tiled hallway and original plaster coving and ceiling rose in the front
room and hall. We've tried to leave the lounge and dining room with all the
remaining original bits, but the cellar and bathroom are now unashamedly
modern. Because we're really pleased with what we've achieved with the house,
here is a virtual tour of The Pigpen, both how it was when we arrived and the
way it is now...
